Atelier Blanco @ TCOI

Designed by Ary Juwono

2024

Ary Juwono’s booth, titled “Atelier Blanco,” at the “Colour of Indonesia” exhibition presents a stunning fusion of eclectic and exotic design elements. Central to the booth’s aesthetic is the use of Muka wood veneer, characterized by its distinctive blue and black eyes pattern. This veneer serves as a dramatic focal point, with its deep, rich hues and intricate patterns creating a striking visual impact that draws viewers into its captivating allure.

Enhancing this effect is the addition of brown snakewood veneer, meticulously inlaid into the blue-black eyes wall panel. The warm, textured tones of the snakewood contrast beautifully with the cooler shades of the Muka veneer, adding a layer of depth and complexity to the design. This combination not only highlights Ary Juwono’s skillful craftsmanship but also creates a dynamic interplay of colors and textures that enriches the booth’s overall aesthetic.

The booth’s design is further distinguished by its eclectic mix of vibrant colors and ornaments. The vivid blue of the Muka veneer is complemented by bold red accents and various decorative elements, creating an exotic atmosphere that is both luxurious and inviting. “Atelier Blanco” stands out as a remarkable showcase of traditional Indonesian materials reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, offering a visually arresting and immersive experience for all who visit.
